Invitation to Foreign Grandmasters to play at 360 One Global Chess Festival in Mumbai

The 360 One Global Chess Festival returns with its 9th edition, to be held in the vibrant city of Mumbai from 10th to 18th June 2026. Over the years, this tournament has built a strong legacy as one of India’s premier international chess events, consistently attracting top talent and providing a competitive platform for rising stars and seasoned professionals alike. This year promises to be stronger than ever. The Masters section has been carefully curated to ensure a high-quality field, with entry for Indian players restricted to those who have crossed a classical rating of 2400 in the last two years (July 2024 to June 2026 FRL).

The tournament features an impressive prize fund of INR 35,00,000/- (around 37,207 USD), with a record first prize of INR 8,00,000/- (around 8,500 USD), one of the highest ever offered in an open chess tournament in India. This reflects our continued commitment to elevating the standards of professional chess events in the country.

Entry Fee: GM/IM/WGM/WIM Free
All the remaining players: ₹10,000/ Approx 105 USD

To ensure the comfort and focus of participating Grandmasters, we are pleased to offer excellent playing conditions, including *appearance fees, accommodation at the official hotel – Hotel Ozone Inn, Colaba*, and comprehensive support throughout the tournament.


Venue: Expo Center, The Arcade, World Trade Center, Mumbai

The event will be hosted at the state-of-the-art venue at the iconic World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade, located in the heart of Mumbai. With world-class playing conditions and seamless organisation, players can expect a truly professional tournament experience.

For international players planning an extended stay in India, the event is part of an exciting Indian Summer Chess Circuit, offering multiple strong tournaments in succession:

  1. KIIT International Grandmaster Chess Tournament – 23rd to 30th May 2026

  2. Gujarat International Grandmaster Chess Tournament – 1st to 8th June 2026

  3. 360 One Global Chess Festival, Mumbai – 10th to 18th June 2026

FI Praful Zaveri is the founder of the Indian Chess School Academy. He is a popular trainer in Mumbai and also the author of the critically acclaimed beginners' manual 'The Chess Course'. His vision is to build the chess culture in his hometown, Mumbai, as well as in India, and help the country produce many more grandmasters in the future. The Mumbai International Chess Festival is his brainchild. He is also one of the most experienced organizers of Indian chess.
