Anwesh Upadhyaya dominates 40th Turm Open 2024

IM Anwesh Upadhyaya scored an unbeaten 6/7 to win 40th Turm (Tower) Open Group A (>1700) 2024. He finished a half point ahead of the rest. FM FI Bernhard Stillger (GER) scored sole 5.5/7 to secure second place. He also remained undefeated. Eight players scored 5/7 each. Out of them CM Maurice Gulatz (GER) was placed third due to better tie-break scores. The top three prizes in Open A were €600, €400 and €250 along with a trophy each. The four-day seven round rating tournament was organized by LSV/Turm Lippstadt from 30th May to 2nd June at Cafeteria at the Dusternweg school center, in Lippstadt, Germany. No tie-breaks needed for top two

Over 170 players registered for the tournament, 155 players took part which is a record number of participants - 71 in Group A (>1700), 50 in Group B (<1800) and 44 in Group C (<1400).

A total of 71 players took part from various countries across the world. The four-day seven round Rating tournament was organized by LSV/Turm Lippstadt at Cafeteria at the Dusternweg school center, in Lippstadt, Germany from 30th May to 2nd June 2024. The time control of the event was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
