Savreen Kaur wins AICF Smart Girls Rating Tournament 2024 Jammu

Savreen Kaur and Sonali Manhas scored 7.5/9 each at AICF Smart Girls Rating Tournament 2024 in Bhaderwah, Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. Savreen won the tournament due to better tie-break score. Sonali secured second place. Their final round battle against each other ended in a draw. Last year's winner - Alankrita Sharma and top seed Divya Bhavani Chembrolu scored 7/9 each. They were placed third and fourth. Total prize fund of the tournament was ₹25000. The top three prizes were ₹5000, ₹4000 and ₹3000 along with a trophy each. The tournament was held from 21st to 25th June at Hotel Thakur Villa in Bhaderwah, Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. It was organized by Bhaderkashi Chess Association District Doda. This was Savreen's first rating tournament triumph of her career. Savreen's first rating tournament triumph

Savreen Kaur and Sonali Manhas were the coleaders 7/8, heading into the final round. They shared the point. Savreen became the winner, Sonali second. The defending champion - Alankrita Sharma defeated Sruthika Nallu to finish third.

A total of 44 players took part from various parts of the country in this five-day nine round Swiss-league Rating tournament. It was organized by Bhaderkashi Chess Association District Doda at Hotel Thakur Villa in Bhaderwah, Doda, Jammu and Kashmir from 21st to 25th June 2024. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
