Positional Chess vs Tactical Chess

Understanding the difference between positional and tactical chess is essential for becoming a well-rounded player. Tactical chess focuses on short-term, concrete calculations, such as forks, pins, and combinations to gain an immediate advantage. In contrast, positional chess is about long-term planning, improving piece placement, and controlling key squares to build an enduring advantage.

We recognized that the content for improving positional chess was not easily accessible, which is why we started this Strategic Mastery series with GM Ankit Rajpara. Our goal has always been to provide you with the tools and insights needed to master positional play and become a more well-rounded player.
